Microcosmos - 34C.
Pretty sweet nature documentary. Using a fancy pants camera it gets very up close and personal (I say personal because there are some sex scenes) to insects and other things. Unbelievably close. I really don’t understand how they got some of the shots.
Very cool stuff.

Life In A Day - 34D.
What a completely fascinating documentary.
So why not a DD? There’s a cow assassination scene that I didn’t really think was necessary. I didn’t watch. I did a kind of cover my eyes look away thing. It went on for a long time. Maybe I’m a hypocrite. I’m not some P.E.T.A. dork and I eat meat quite often. But I don’t need to see some cow get snuffed out.
On July 24th, 2010 videos from all over the world were sent into youtube in response to specific questions. This documentary is those video clips. A lot of them.
This really has everything. It’s beautiful, heartbreaking, heartwarming, sad, inspiring, etc.
You can watch the whole movie here.

Cropsey - 34D.
I was expecting some lame ass, fake documentary Blair Witch Project type shit.
Nope. This was real. And really, really creepy.
In Staten Island in the 70s and 80s some mentally challenged children went missing. There was one suspect but not much proof.
This documentary gets crazy. It talks about underground tunnels below an old mental institution, necrophilia, satanic cults, human sacrifice, etc.
One of the creepiest things about this was some real footage from a 1972 documentary that Geraldo Rivera was involved with. Check out a preview here.
Watch this movie. It’s on Netflix Instant.

With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story - 34D.
If you’re a fan of Stan Lee this is a must see. It’s a documentary about his life. From the beginning to right now.
What a sweet, adorable man.

Brother’s Justice - 34B.
A fake documentary about Dax Shepard wanting to stop doing comedy and focus on making an action/karate movie.
It was ok. Not that good. The best part in the whole movie was a clip from a fake movie called Drillin’ Deep. He got all his celebrity friends to each make a 5 minute cameo.
Weird. They actually just made fun of Shepard on Tosh.O.

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: A Family Portrait - 34C.
Click on above link to watch whole movie on youtube. It’s only an hour.
Creepy documentary. All of the interviews are with the main family members. Gunnar Hansen(Leatherface), Edwin Neal(The Hitchhiker), John Dugan(Grandpa) and Jim Seidow(Old Man). No Tobe Hooper. Nobody else.
It’s creepy in the sense of what these people are saying. They didn’t use fake sticks or wood. Any time there was a beating they were encouraged to really hit the people. Hard. Real food rotting on the table. Disgustingly hot temperatures. Some crazy stuff.
If you’re a fan of the original movie, watch it.

Pearl Jam Twenty - 34D.
Great documentary. If you’re a fan of Pearl Jam, you’ll love it.
My only complaint. That sweet interview between David Lynch and Eddie Vedder that sets up the trailer. It’s not in the movie.
